Quirky & Fun table scape for Valentine's Day

How to make this place mat...

This was a fun afternoon bit of crafting that you could get the kids involved with. What you will need:

hearts in natural hardboard (I found them at PNA) or you could use my PDF template to have them cut out at your local hardware.

Red Spray paint

Pink Glitter ...sparkles are always pretty under candlelight!

Red and Pink pom poms

Glue

METHOD:

Spray paint the hearts with the red spray paint. While still wet sprinkle the pink glitter onto the placemat

Put a blob of glue and alternate the red and pink pom poms around the perimeter of the placemat, and voile...done!

And now for the flowers...

Roses are so very typical, so why not go for something different...I love the simplicity of Tulips. I chose red and pink to go with my theme, and gently placed them into a round vase with a cut glass votive in the center so that I could place a tea light into my arrangement without burning the Tulips. This arrangement is perfect for the center of the table as it is low enough for you to see over. The tea light emits a gentle glow.

At the end of the table I continued with the "entrapment theme" by placing the Tulips into a tall vase which I wrapped fairy lights around.

The 3rd arrangement I just placed the Tulips into a vase, without the restriction of the vase they have lovely movement.

I placed the spraypainted / glittered Love sign in front to keep with the Valentines theme

Putting it all together...
