I thought this year I would share the cooking love. My husband is a fantastic braaier (is that even a word?) anyway...I thought I would keep it simple by preparing the starter and dessert in advance so that we could enjoy each others company around the fire as he cooked the main. Laziness (also known as forward thinking) got me popping to Woolies to get a bag of baby potatoes with garlic butter in a microwave bag as well as cheese and pepper sauce for the fillet (also snip the corner and microwave), then all I would have to do is quickly fry some lovely asparagus in Woolies garlic butter with a squeeze of lemon as the fillet rested. Voila! A romantic meal for 2.
STARTER: Prawn cocktail (my hubby favourite)
MAIN: Beef fillet with pepper sauce and cheese sauce (we each have our personal favourite)
SERVED WITH...garlic butter baby potatoes and asparagus cooked in garlic butter with a drizzle of lemon to finish
DESSERT: Chocolate Mousse
